PACKAGE OVERVIEW
A twelve-night guided tour combining a wildlife experience in Mpumalanga with the real Africa in Mozambique. Explore Pretoria, Kruger National Park, and exclusive game reserves. Visit Maputo’s markets, relax on Bilene and Inhambane beaches, and sail in Vilanculos. Conclude with wildlife viewing in Gorongosa National Park before returning to Johannesburg.
Day 1 – Johannesburg / Pretoria
The tour starts at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg. Briefly visit Jo’burg and Pretoria.
Day 2 – Pretoria / Hazyview
Early departure for Mpumalanga via Blyde River Canyon : God’s Window, the Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels are the highlights of the day.
Day 3 – Kruger Park
Spend a full day game viewing in the famous Kruger National Park either by coach or on 4×4 safari vehicles.
Day 4 – Private Game Reserve
Depart for a concession within the park for an exclusive safari experience.
Day 5 – Private Game Reserve / Maputo
En route to Maputo … at the busy border crossing the adventure begins – Special dinner : prawns and beer.
Day 6 – Maputo / Bilene
Morning visit to the market, and the train station which was designed by no other than Gustav Eiffel Depart for Bilene (180 km) and a visit of a Palm plantation. Night at Praia Do Sol.
Day 7 + 8 Bilene / Inhambane
Drive northwards to Inhambane (375 km). Stay two nights at a Beach Lodge. Swim and snorkel , visit Tofu Beach, and take a dhow sailing trip to Maxixe.
Day 9 – Inhambane / Vilanculos
Continue to Vilanculos (240 km) for a two-night stay by the sea.
Day 10 – Vilanculos
Boat trip to Island Margaruque with picnic lunch – collect pansy shells.
Day 11 – Vilanculos / Gorongosa
Early departure to the National Park of Gorongosa (480 km) where the Karr Foundation has done incredible work to rehabilitate the park. Stay 2 nights at the Gorongosa Lodge.
Day 12 – Gorongosa
Game viewing, bird watching and stargazing is the order of the day.
Day 13 – Beira / Johannesburg
Early transfer to Beira – Flight to Johannesburg.
